Watch and listen to the news anchors report this tragic story.  Jessica is trying to choose her words carefully and not turn it into a joke.  Mal is trying not to laugh!

The five year old’s mother, “…when he tried to pet the beaver – it bit him!”  It’s really not a laughing matter and it really freakin’ hurts!

I can tell you from experience that it’s not nearly as rare or unusual as we are being led to believe.  Several times, I have been bitten when I tried to pet an unsuspecting beaver!  And I’ve been slapped more times than I can count.  I even got coldcocked once!

The moral of the story:  Be very careful to only pet beavers that you are very sure will welcome it!

Re: Blog Title

This was the favorite expression of my Drill Sergeant, a typical Black career man in his late twenties, at Basic Training.  He didn’t use it to be “fucking cute”.  He used it because the dumb SOB thought it was correct!  So, it has more meaning to me than to most others.  I like it.  I’ll probably keep it.
